Brand Style Guides | The Savvy Peach

Brand Style Guides are a must-have tool for every business

These needed pieces compile every piece that is essential to your branding and organize it in one simple document. This document tells everyone how to design and communicate within your brand.

Think of it this way, would you want to spend thousands of dollars on a new wardrobe only to leave it thrown about your back lawn? No, I didn’t think so. In order to take care of the investment you have made in your business, you want to have a dedicated place to keep all of your brand’s style information.

Brand style guides, aka Brand Bibles, are so important and can be a little daunting. Never fear, the Peach is here! (haha, I literally laughed out loud when I wrote that.)

What is a brand style guide?

A brand style guide is a document that organizes how your business should present itself. Meaning, it keeps all of your ducks in a row when it comes to branding. There are many people who will assist you in your efforts throughout the life of your business. When you have different folks working on marketing, design, sales, customer service and product development, you need to make sure your look remains consistent. By using a brand style guide, your business will keep its branded look in all channels.

Why is a brand style guide important?

Your brand is your personality - it’s your identity to your clients and prospects. By building a stable brand, your clients develop a trust in your business. Inconsistency will confuse clients. And that is NOT what we are going for.

What goes in a brand style guide?

Mission:

Your company’s mission statement should be focused and featured in order to keep it in the forefront of all materials produced.

Logo:

You want your logo show along with the do’s and do not’s of how it can be used. Also showcase any elements you use alongside your logo.

Color palette:

Be sure to show your company’s colors in CMYK, RGB, Pantone and Hex color values

Font selection(s):

Showcase the fonts you use on all of your pieces.

Imagery:

Selecting stock photography can be a chore, BUT it helps others to know exactly the look you are wanting to portray.

Voice:

Do you have specific words or phrases that you use in your business? Include these as well to keep the voice of your company consistent.
